    List of Ingredients


    • 3 c flour
    • 4 1/2 t baking powder
    • 2 T sugar
    • 1/2 t salt
    • 3/4 t cream of tartar
    • 1 c milk
    • 12 T butter (3/4 c)
    • 1 large egg, beaten


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 450*F.
    2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar salt, and cream of tartar.
    3. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse small peas.
    4. Add egg and milk, stirring quickly and briefly.
    5. Knead lightly on floured surface.
    6. Roll or pat to 1" thickness. Cut into 2" round biscuits.
    7. Place on a 9" pan or cookie sheet 1/2" apart.
    8. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes.
