List of Ingredients
- 3 c flour
- 4 1/2 t baking powder
- 2 T sugar
- 1/2 t salt
- 3/4 t cream of tartar
- 1 c milk
- 12 T butter (3/4 c)
- 1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450*F.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar salt, and cream of tartar.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse small peas.
- Add egg and milk, stirring quickly and briefly.
- Knead lightly on floured surface.
- Roll or pat to 1" thickness. Cut into 2" round biscuits.
- Place on a 9" pan or cookie sheet 1/2" apart.
- Bake for 12 - 15 minutes.
