    3 (1 lb.) cans pork and beans -- Campbell's work
    1/2 pound bacon -- thick sliced is best
    2 large onions -- chopped
    2 large bell pepper -- chopped
    6 cloves garlic -- crushed
    2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
    1 tablespoon liquid hickory smoke
    1 teaspoon Creole seasoning
    1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    1 teaspoon seasoned salt
    1 tablespoon dry mustard
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    1/3 cup brown sugar, packed -- light or dark
    1 teaspoon maple extract
    1/4 cup hot barbecue sauce -- Bull's Eye Hot & Spicy's best
    1/2 cup catsup
    1 (3 oz.) can tomato paste

    Recipe



    Fry chopped bacon in skillet. Retain 3 tbsp. drippings and saute onion and bell peppers in it. Add all ingredients to slow cooker and mix. Cook about 4 hours, starting on high then turning to medium when simmering. Stir once during cooking.

    Yield:
    "12 servings"

    Serving Ideas : Serve from slow cooker.

    NOTES : Recipe may be doubled for crowds. Don't be put off by number of ingredients because most are in your kitchen now.
