    List of Ingredients

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
    2½ tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. instant minced onion
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/3 cup shortening
    ¾ cup milk
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (2 oz.)
¼ cup bacon-flavored bits or chips

    Recipe

Heat oven to 450°F. Grease a cookie sheet. Mix flour, Parmesan cheese, baking powder, salt, onion, and pepper in a medium bowl. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Stir in milk, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits until a soft dough forms. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 times. Roll or pat dough to ½-inch thick. Cut with a floured 2½-inch cutter. Place about 1 inch apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden.

*If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt.

    Makes 12 biscuits
