1 pkg. (14oz.) caramels
1 box dry German Chocolate Cake Mix
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup melted margarine
chopped nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
Recipe
Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk together and set aside. Grease and flour 9x13" cake pan. Combine cake mix, nuts, remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk and margarine. Press half of the batter in pan and reserve the rest. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Sprinkle baked crust with chocolate chips and spread caramel over the top. Add reserved cake batter. Bake 15 to 18 minutes longer. Remove from oven and cool.
