Kitty’s Glazed Orange Cake

1 cup butter
2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
6 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons grated orange rind
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 1) Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar and continue to beat until well blended. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Sift together flour, salt, and soda.
Alternately, add flour and sour cream to butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in orange rind and vanilla. Batter should be well blended.
Grease and lightly flour a 10-inch tube or bundt pan. Spoon batter into pan, distributing evenly.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Test with toothpick. It may need 10-15 minutes more, depending on your oven, so be patient!
Remove from oven and while still warm, carefully poke holes (using a wooden skewer or thin knife) down to center of cake. Pour glaze over top. Let cool before serving.
Glaze:
1 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup butter
Combine juices, sugar and butter in saucepan. Bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer for 10 minutes.
