Recipe Introduction


You can make homemade old time lye soap like your grandma used to make, without the harsh "Bite" so common in yesteryears homemade soaps.

For the following recipes I use the following base recipe for the soap base, then add the ingredients from each recipe at trace. These recipes can be made using either the hot process or cold process methods.




List of Ingredients




Base Recipe

40 oz Olive Oil
12 oz Coconut Oil
7.20 oz Red Devil Lye
20 oz Distilled Water (Do not use tap water)
Follow your basic cold process or hot process methods, then choose a recipe below and add ingredients at trace stage. This base recipe lathers well and is very good for the skin.

Exotica Nights

1/3-cup juniper breeze fragrance
¼ cup dried rose petals
¼ cup dried sunflower petals

Strawberries and Cream

½ cup strawberry pulp
1/3-cup strawberries n cream fragrance
2 tsp cream
¼ tbsp red colorant
Mix fragrance and pour half the mixture into mold. Add cream, pulp and colorant to rest of mixture, pour into mold and swirl with a plastic spatula.

Poppin Poppies

2 tbsp green colorant
¼ cup floral fragrance
½ cup poppy seeds (exfoliant)

Oatmeal n Honey

¼ cup honey fragrance
5 tbsp honey
½ cup oats

Carrot Soup

½ cup carrot pulp
1/3 cup Fragrance of your choice

Chocolate Chip

½ cup real chocolate chips
¼ cup chocolate fragrance
