Smear some softened cream cheese in the indentation before putting the lemon filling in.
List of Ingredients
2 loaves Bridgford Frozen Bread Dough,White, thawed
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
1 package (3oz*) regular, NOT INSTANT, lemon pie filling mix prepared as directed
OR
2 cups your favorite prepared lemon filling
Recipe
Divide each loaf of dough into 8 pieces (total of 16 pieces for the 2 loaves). Gently roll each piece into a ball, flatten slightly. Place on greased baking sheets about 2-inches apart. Brush with melted butter or margarine and let rise in a warm place for one to two hours or until doubled in size. After risen, make indentations about 1-inch wide in center of each ball, pressing to bottom. Fill each with 2 tablespoons pie filling. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until the rolls just begin to turn golden brown. Remove from oven and brush rolls with melted butter or margarine. Remove from baking sheets and cool on wire racks. When cool, drizzle with glaze.
Lemon Glaze: Mix 2 cups powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
*3 oz. size might be difficult to find, may use the 4¼ oz. size.
