    2 tablespoons butter
    1 cup uncooked long grain rice
    1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
    1-3/4 cups chicken broth
    1/2 cup shredded carrot
    1 packet (1 ounce) HIDDEN VALLEY® The Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
    1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted

    Melt butter in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add rice and onion; sauté about 6 minutes or until golden. Stir in broth, carrot and salad dressing & seasoning mix; bring to boil. Transfer to a 2-quart baking dish; cover and bake at 350°F. for 30 minutes. Before serving, fluff rice with fork and sprinkle with almonds.


    Note For stove-top method, increase chicken broth to 2-1/4 cups. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, over low heat for 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Fluff rice with fork; transfer from skillet to serving bowl and sprinkle with almonds.
