Barbecued Chicken Wings

- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons rice wine or scotch
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 3 pounds chicken wings
Instructions
- Prepare wings by halving at the joint and cutting off tips.
- In a bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, ketchup and the garlic.
- Add the wings to the sauce.
- Toss mixture to coat the wings in sauce. Chill, covered, stirring occasionally, overnight.
- Arrange the wings, skin side down, on a baking sheet large enough to hold them in one layer and bake them in the lower third of a preheated 375 F. for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Turn the wings and bake them for 20 minutes more.
- Serve hot, or at room temperature on a platter.
