    Rise And Shine Sausage Cornbread Bake

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pound sausage, cooked, drained and crumbled
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 1/2 cup applesauce
    • 1 1/2 cups Buttermilk Self-Rising Cornbread Meal mix
    • 3/4 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
    • 1/2 cup chopped dates
    • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
    • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Bake at 425 degrees. Grease a 10 inch ovenproof skillet. In a medium skillet, brown sausage and drain well. In a large bowl, combine eggs, Martha White cornmeal mix, applesauce, milk, oil, maple syrup, dates, pecans and cinnamon. Pour half of cornmeal mixture in greased skillet. Sprinkle sausage over top of the cornmeal mixture. Pour remaining cornmeal batter over top. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with maple syrup.
    2. Yield: 6 to 8 servings
