Blond Toffee Brownies

- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup almond brickle or english toffee bits
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Beat in vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in toffee bits.
- Spread evenly into a 13x9x2" baking pan.
- Bake at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack.
- Cut into bars.
