    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup almond brickle or english toffee bits


    Instructions


    1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars.
    2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    3. Beat in vanilla.
    4. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in toffee bits.
    5. Spread evenly into a 13x9x2" baking pan.
    6. Bake at 350 for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    7. Cool on a wire rack.
    8. Cut into bars.
