Buttermilk Brownies

List of Ingredients
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt chocolate squares and butter and set aside to cool.
- Combine eggs, sugar, buttermilk and vanilla and stir.
- Add cooled chocolate and butter and stir.
- Sprinkle in flour, baking powder and salt and mix well.
- Fold in chopped walnuts.
- Pour into a greased 13x9" baking pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350.
- Allow brownies to cool and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Final Comments
The Skinny: Use your favorite egg and sugar substitute. You should not substitute for the buttermilk because it will change the flavor and texture of the brownies.
