    Cynthia's Peanut Butter Brownies

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup sifted flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 (16 ounce) can chocolate syrup
    • 1 1/4 cups peanut butter
    • 2 squares semi sweet chocolate


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Grease a 9x13x2" baking pan.
    3. Sift together flour and salt.
    4. In a large bowl, cream 1/2 stick butter and sugar.
    5. Add eggs and mix until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla.
    6. Stir in flour mixture and stir until combined.
    7. Add chocolate syrup and stir until no streaks remain.
    8. Pour into prepared pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center springs back when touched.
    9. Cool completely in pan.
    10. While brownies cool, mix peanut butter with 1 tablespoon melted butter. Spread over brownies.
    11. Melt chocolate squares with remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons butter in a small bowl over hot, not boiling water.
    12. Drizzle chocolate across peanut butter creating lines 1" apart.
    13. Draw toothpick across the lines to create decrative pattern.
    14. Refrigerate before cutting into bars.
    15. Makes 30 to 36 brownies


    Final Comments


    This is a very moist and soft brownie.
