Double Fudge Cream Cheese Brownies

- Brownies:
- 1 cup butter
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, cut up
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Filling:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease a 9x13x2" baking pan
- For Brownies: Microwave butter and baking bars in large microwave safe bowl on high for 1 minutes; stir. Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in sugar, flour, eggs, baking powder, salt and vanilla extract. Gently stir in morsels.
- Spread half of batter unto prepared baking pan.
- For Filling: Beat sugar, egg, cream cheese, butter, flour and vanilla in small mixer bowl until creamy.
- Spread over brownie batter.
- Spoon remaining batter over cream cheese mixture.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from sides of pan.
- Cool completely in pan on wire rack; cut into bars.
- Store tightly covered in refrigerator.
