Golden Peanut Butter Brownies

- 2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2/3 cups butter, softened
- 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1 (6 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl, combine flour and baking powder; set aside. In a large bowl, combine butter, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract; beat until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spread evenly into well greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Bake 35 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool completely. Cut into 2 inch squares.
Final Comments
If a frosing is desired, sprinkle top of brownies, when removed from oven, with 1 cup of chocolate chips. Let stand about 5 minutes, until chips become shiny and soft; then spread chocolate evenly over top of brownies.
