Raspberry Jam Brownies

- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup raspberry jam
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Frosting:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup raspberry jam
Instructions
- For Brownies: Place butter and chocolate in a microwavable bowl.
- Microwave on high until butter and chocolate are melted, 1 to 2 minutes.
- Stir until smooth, beat in sugar, vanilla extract and salt.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in flour.
- Stir in jam and walnuts.
- Pour into a greased and floured 8" square pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Let stand in pan 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
- While brownies are cooling make frosting.
- For Frosting: Melt butter and chocolate chips together.
- Stir until smooth.
- Stir in raspberry jam and frost top of brownies.
- When cold, cut into 1" squares.
