• 1 cup butter, softened
  
• 2 cups sugar
  
• 4 eggs
  
• 3 cups flour
  
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
  
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  
• 1 cup buttermilk
  
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
  






Instructions



1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar on high until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; add alternatelty with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Pour into 3 greased and floured 8" cake pans. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool cakes completely before icing.
