Pie: Buttermilk Chess Pie

List of Ingredients
- 1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust (homemade or purchased)
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon plain white cornmeal
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare pie crust and place in pie pan.
- In bowl, beat eggs with wire whisk. Add sugar, melted butter, cornmeal, buttermilk, salt and vanilla. Mix ingredients well and pour into unbaked pie shell.
- Bake in preheated oven on bottom rack for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 20 minutes more.
