    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 2 cups granulated sugar
    • 3/4 cup butter
    • 4 tablespoons cocoa
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 2 beaten eggs
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • Chocolate Icing:
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1 (16 ounce) box powdered sugar
    • 4 tablespoons cocoa
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • Small amount of milk
    • 1/2 cup chopped pecans


    Instructions


    1. Into a large bowl, mix flour, sugar and cinnamon. In a saucepan, mix butter, cocoa and water. Stir constantly until mixture melts. Pour into flour mixture and mix well. Add buttermilk, beaten eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well. Pour batter into shortening greased cookie sheet with deep sides. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
    2. Chocolate Icing: Into a saucepan, add butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and enough milk to make creamy. Mix well and cool over medium heat. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and mix in chopped pecans. Pour icing on cake while both are still warm.
