Cake: Chocolate Fudge Cake

- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 (16 ounce) can Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 small can evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate morsels
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar. Separate eggs and add yolks, one at a time. Sift all dry ingredients and add, alternating with chocolate syrup. Add vanilla and mix well. Beat egg whites until stiff, and then fold in.
- Pour into 2 greased and floured 8x8 or 8 inch round cake pans. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
- Frosting: Mix and boil butter, sugar and milk for about 2 minutes. Remove and add chocolate morsels. Pour on hot cake while frosting is hot.
