    Cake: Chocolate Fudge Cake

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 4 eggs, separated
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • Pinch of salt
    • 1 (16 ounce) can Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • Frosting:
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/2 small can evaporated milk
    • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate morsels


    Instructions


    1. Cream butter and sugar. Separate eggs and add yolks, one at a time. Sift all dry ingredients and add, alternating with chocolate syrup. Add vanilla and mix well. Beat egg whites until stiff, and then fold in.

    2. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8x8 or 8 inch round cake pans. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

    3. Frosting: Mix and boil butter, sugar and milk for about 2 minutes. Remove and add chocolate morsels. Pour on hot cake while frosting is hot.
