Eggnog Pound Cake

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons rum
- 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon rum
- Eggnog to make a glaze consistency
Instructions
- Cream together butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating well. Sift dry ingredients; add the butter mixture alternating with the eggnog. Add rum and mix well. Pour into greased bundt or tube pan and bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees, or until cake tests done. Do not overbake.
- Glaze: Combine all ingredients and pour over cooled cake and top with sliced almonds, if desired.
