Cake: Mexican Sheet Cake

- 1 cup margarine
- 1 cup water
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 5 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 (16 ounce) box powdered sugar
Instructions
- Bring margarine, water and cocoa to a boil; combine with sugar and flour and mix. Add eggs one at a time.
- Stir baking soda into butter milk and add to mixed ingredients. Stir in vanilla and cinnamon.
- Bake 18 minutes at 400 degrees in a 15x10x1" pan. Four minutes after cake is in oven, prepare frosting.
- Melt margarine; add milk and cocoa. Pour over powdered sugar. Add vanilla and nuts and mix. Frost while cake is hot.
