Cake: Milky Way Cake II

List of Ingredients
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 8 large Milky Way bars
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
- 2 1/4 cups cake flour
- 1 cup pecans or walnuts
- Frosting:
- 1 cup canned evaporated milk
- 1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips
- 1 cup marshmallow cream
- 1 cup butter
Instructions
- CAKE Combine 1 cup of butter and candy bars in top of a double boiler. Cook over hot water until melted. Set aside.
- Cream sugar and remaining butter until light. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk and add to creamed mixture; alternating with flour. Add melted candy and nuts. Mix well until blended and smooth. Spoon into two 9 inch round greased cake pans. Bake 35 minutes at 325 degrees.
- FROSTING: Combine sugar and milk in a saucepan. Cook over low heat stirring until sugar until sugar dissolves to a soft ball stage, 238 degrees on a candy thermometer. Add chocolate chips, marshmallow cream and butter to dissolved sugar mixture. Beat 4 minutes. Cool. Spread on cooled cake.
