Pie: Pecan Crumble Apple Pie

- 1 (9 inch) pie crust
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 2 teaspoons flour
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 (20 ounce) can sliced apples, drained well
- Crumb Topping:
- 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Line a 9" pie plate with prepared pastry. Trim and crimp edges as desired; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine sugar, pecans, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add apples and toss well. Arrange in pastry lined plate.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, butter, pecans and cinnamon with a pastry blender or fingertips until mixture resembles coarse meal. Spoon topping over apples. Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and bake an additional 35 minutes. Cool on rack.
- Makes 8 servings.
