    Pie: Pecan Crumble Apple Pie

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 (9 inch) pie crust
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
    • 2 teaspoons flour
    • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
    • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1 (20 ounce) can sliced apples, drained well
    • Crumb Topping:
    • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
    • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 425.

    2. Line a 9" pie plate with prepared pastry. Trim and crimp edges as desired; set aside.

    3. In a medium bowl, combine sugar, pecans, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add apples and toss well. Arrange in pastry lined plate.

    4. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, butter, pecans and cinnamon with a pastry blender or fingertips until mixture resembles coarse meal. Spoon topping over apples. Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and bake an additional 35 minutes. Cool on rack.

    5. Makes 8 servings.
