    Pie: Dutch Apple Pie

    List of Ingredients


    • 7 to 8 large cooking apples
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
    • Dash of nutmeg
    • 1 (9 inch) pie shell
    • Topping:
    • 2/3 cup flour
    • 2/3 cup rolled oats
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup butter


    Instructions


    1. Melt butter, add apples and toss until coated. Add sugar and cinnamon, toss until well coated. Bake a 9 inch pie shell for 10 minutes. Pour apple mixture into pie shell.
    2. Topping: Combine the rolled oats and cinnamon. Combine brown sugar and flour, then add to the rolled oats mixture. Cream butter and add to the above mixture. Sprinkle over unbaked apples.
    3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 to 60 minutes.
