    Cake: White Cake Supreme

    List of Ingredients


    • 3/4 cup shortening
    • 1 1/2 cups sugar
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    • 2 1/4 cups sifted cake flour
    • 3 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1 cup milk
    • 5 stiffly beaten egg whites


    Instructions


    1. Cream shortening and sugar until light. Add vanilla and mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition. Fold in egg whites.

    2. Bake in 2 greased and floured 9 1 1/2 inch round pans at 375 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans. Cool completely and frost.
