Beef: Beef Cabbage Casserole

- 1 small head of cabbage, cut into cubes
- 2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into fourths
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
- 1 dash paprika
Instructions
- Salt and pepper the cabbage to taste and cook until well done; drain.
- Salt and cook potatoes until well done; drain.
- Mash potatoes with butter, but make sure they are on the dry side.
- Place hamburger in large skillet, add onion and cook until well done; drain off all the fat.
- Stir in cumin, salt and pepper.
- Line a baking dish that is atleast 3 inches deep with cabbage.
- Place meat mixture on top of the cabbage.
- Cover the top with the mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
- Makes 4 large servings.
