    Beef: Linda's Sheppard's Pie

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 pounds ground beef
    • 2 large onions, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves fresh garlic, diced
    • 2 cans cream style corn
    • 8 to 10 large potatoes, boiled, drained and mashed with 1 stick of butter and 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
    • Salt and pepper to taste


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook hamburger until done in a frying pan. Add onions and season with garlic powder or add diced garlic to hamburger mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until onions are soft. Set aside.

    2. Cook potatos in boiling, salted water, for 20 to 25 mins. and drain. Mash well, adding butter, milk, sour cream and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

    3. In a 9x13" casserole dish, put hamburger mixture on bottom. Add cream style corn over top of hamburger. Add mashed potatoes over top of corn, making sure all is covered well.

    4. Put in oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until top is brown and mixture is hot all the way through, checking often to make sure potatoes don't get too brown. If it starts getting too brown, wrap with aluminum foil and continue cooking until heated through.

    5. Let sit for 10 minutes. before serving. Cut into squares and serve.
