    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup shortening
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
    • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
    • 1 egg, unbeaten
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup sifted flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon each, baking soda and baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup rolled oats
    • 1/2 cup corn flakes
    • 1/2 cup salted peanuts


    Instructions


    1. Melt shorteniing and butter over very low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
    2. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir into sugar mixture. Blend in oats, corn flakes and peanuts.
    3. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
    4. Makes about 4 dozen 2 inch cookies.
