- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Buttercream Frosting:
- 1/2 pound powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- Pinch of salt, optional
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 to 2 tablespoons cream (milk can be substituted)
Instructions
- Cookies: Cream the butter and sugar. Then added egg, cream and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Stir into butter mixture. Form into balls and place on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Flatten dough balls slightly with the palm of your hand. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown on the bottoms, approximately 10 minutes. Cool and frost.
- Buttercream Frosting: Cream butter and powdered sugar. add salt and vanilla and enough cream or milk to reach desired spreading consistency.
