    Caramel Apple Slices

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 large sweet or tart apples, unpeeled and cored
    • 1/2 cup apple cider
    • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
    • Ground cinnamon, as garnish
    • Ground nutmeg, as garnish


    Instructions


    1. Cut apples into quarters; cut into thin 1/4 inch slices. Heat apples, cider and brown sugar to boiling in medium skillet; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until apples are crisp tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Place apples on serving dish with slotted spoon.
    2. Heat cider mixture to boiling; boil until mixture is reduced to a syrup consistency. Pour syrup over apples, and sprinkle very lightly with cinnamon and nutmeg. Serve over frozen yogurt, icecream, pancakes, waffles or crepes.
    3. Makes 4 servings
