Cinnamon Apple Raisin Crisp

- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar, divided
- 1 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons minute tapioca
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 5 cups thinly sliced peeled apples
Instructions
- Mix flour, oats, 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon in a medium bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; set aside. Mix water, remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar, raisins, tapioca, remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon and nutmeg in a large saucepan. Let stand 10 minutes. Stir in apples. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil. Pour into an 8 inch square baking dish. Sprinkle with flour mixture.
