Italian Sausage Calzones

List of Ingredients
- 1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage
- 1/4 cup fine chopped onion
- 1/4 cup fine diced mushrooms
- 1/3 cup pizza sauce
- Quick Calzone Dough:
- 2 cups bisquick
- 1/3 cup hot water (120 to 130 degrees)
- 1 tablespoon oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Cook sausage in skillet until browned, then drain. Stir in onion, mushrooms and pizza sauce; keep warm. Prepare dough. Layer mozzarella cheese, sausage mixture and parmesan on half of the circle to within 1 inch of edge. Brush edge of dough lightly with water. Fold dough over filling; press edge with fork to seal. Brush with egg white. Bake about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes. Cut into wedges.
- Dough: Mix all ingredients until dough forms. Place dough on surface dusted with bisquick; roll in bisquick to coat. Knead dough 15 to 20 times or until smooth and elastic. Roll into 12 inch circle. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
