    List of Ingredients


    • 5 apples
    • 2/3 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 3/4 cup milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 tablespoon butter
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Pare and quarter apples.
    2. Place sugar and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
    3. Add the apples and cook until tender.
    4. Remove apples with a slotted spoon.
    5. Place in sherbet glasses.
    6. Mix cornstarch milk; add to syrup and boil a few minutes.
    7. Add butter, salt and vanilla.
    8. Pour over apples.
    9. Serve hot or cold.


    10. Serves 4
