    Beef: Beef Pot Roast

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons water
    • 2 1/2 pound boneless beef chuck roast
    • 2 cups hot water
    • 1 beef bouillon cube
    • 2 tablespoons orange juice
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper


    Instructions


    1. Simmer onion in 2 tablespoons water in a heavy deep skillet. Add roast to skillet; brown on all sides.

    2. Combine beef bouillon cube with 2 cups hot water; stir until dissolved.

    3. Combine orange juice, allspice, pepper and beef broth. Pour over meat. Cover and simmer about 2 hours.

    4. 4 servings, about 4 ounces beef each.
