Pasta: Broccoli And Ziti Casserole

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh broccoli, about 4 cups cooked
- 2 cups tomato sauce, jarred or fresh
- 1/2 pound ziti pasta, cooked
- 1/4 cup fat free parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 (16 ounce) container low fat ricotta cheese, or fat free
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat olive oil in skillet. Saute garlic until soft, not brown. Stir broccoli into garlic oil and set aside.
- In a large, oblong casserole dish, layer 1/2 of the tomato sauce, 1/2 cooked ziti, 1/2 Parmesan cheese, all of the broccoli, all ricotta, remaining ziti, remaining sauce, crumbs, wheat germ, and remaining Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Uncover during last 15 minutes of cooking. Sauce should be bubbly and top lightly browned.
