White Bean And Green Chile Pepper Soup

- 2 (15 ounce) cans great northern beans rinsed and drained
- 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
- 1 (4 1/2) ounce can diced green chiles
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin divided
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 (14 1/2) ounce can fat free chicken broth
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup sour cream (optional)
Instructions
- Combine beans, onion, chiles, garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon of the ground cumin in a slow cooker.
- Cook on low 8 hours or on high 4 hours.
- Stir in cilantro, olive oils and remaining 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin.
- Garnish with sour cream if desired.
