- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup McCormicks Golden Dipt Fish And Chips Batter Mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 pounds cod fillets
- McCormicks Golden Dipt Tartar Sauce (optional)
- Lemon Wedges
Instructions
- Fill a heavy saucepan or deep fryer with enough oil for food to float, but not more than half full. Heat oil to 375 degrees.
- Blend batter mix and water in a medium bowl until smooth. (For a thinner batter, add 1 to 2 tablespoons additional water.) Dip fish pieces into batter; shake off excess.
- Fry fish 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown, a few pieces at a time. Drain on paper towels. Serve with tartar sauce if desired, and garnish with lemon wedges.
- Yield: 6 servings (242 calories each)
