    List of Ingredients


    • 4 chicken breasts
    • 2 medium onions
    • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
    • 1 jar Ortega salsa
    • 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chiles
    • 1 package corn tortillas
    • 1 1/2 cups grated Monterey jack cheese or aged cheddar


    Instructions


    1. Wrap each chicken breast in foil after it has been salted and peppered. Bake 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool in foil. Save juices. Shred chicken in a bowl. In another bowl, add juice of the chicken, soup, salsa and chiles. Slice onion and saute slightly. Slice tortillas in 1 inch strips. Layer ingredients, line pan with strips of tortillas, sprinkle with chicken, the sauce and the cheese. Keep layering, ending with cheese. Bake 45 to 60 minutes. Use 1 can of chicken broth if you don't have enough juice from chicken. You can put this in refrigerator overnight and use the next day.
