    Creamed Chicken With Biscuits

    List of Ingredients


    • Biscuits:
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2/3 cup milk
    • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
    • Creamed Chicken:
    • 1/4 cup chopped onion
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
    • 1/4 cup flour
    • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
    • 2 cups milk or broth
    • 2 cups chopped cooked chicken
    • Parsley


    Instructions


    1. Biscuits: Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add milk and oil. Stir until dough forms a ball. Knead 10 times. Roll or pat into a 6" square about 1" thick. Cut into 6 rectangles. Place on lightly greased pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
    2. Creamed Chicken: In a skillet, saute onions in butter until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Add milk, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and stir 1 to 2 minutes until thick. Stir in chicken and parsley; heat.
    3. To serve, split biscuit in half. Put some creamed chicken over top of bottom half. Top with top of biscuit and more creamed chicken.
    4. Serves 6
