    Pan Fried Barbecue Chicken

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/3 cup oil
    • 6 chicken pieces
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1 cup ketchup
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
    • 2 tablespoons mustard
    • 1/4 cup vinegar
    • 1/4 cup water


    Instructions


    1. Preheat a large skillet and add oil.
    2. In a large plastic bag, combine flour, salt, chili powder and pepper.
    3. Add chicken pieces and shake well.
    4. Place chicken in skillet skin side down.
    5. Fry until golden brown.
    6. Heat ketchup,brown sugar, onion, worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar and water to boiling; simmer.
    7. Turn chicken skin side up and fry until brown.
    8. Pour sauce on chicken and simmer for 45 minutes until chicken is done.
    9. Serves 6


    Final Comments


    Michelle's notes: I have also made the sauce and baked my chicken, when the chicken is almost half cooked, I add the sauce and let it keep baking until chicken is cooked through. We love to dip our biscuits in the sauce with the chicken!
