Pan Fried Barbecue Chicken

List of Ingredients
- 1/3 cup oil
- 6 chicken pieces
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet and add oil.
- In a large plastic bag, combine flour, salt, chili powder and pepper.
- Add chicken pieces and shake well.
- Place chicken in skillet skin side down.
- Fry until golden brown.
- Heat ketchup,brown sugar, onion, worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar and water to boiling; simmer.
- Turn chicken skin side up and fry until brown.
- Pour sauce on chicken and simmer for 45 minutes until chicken is done.
- Serves 6
Final Comments
Michelle's notes: I have also made the sauce and baked my chicken, when the chicken is almost half cooked, I add the sauce and let it keep baking until chicken is cooked through. We love to dip our biscuits in the sauce with the chicken!
