- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (milk or sharp, american, cheddar, swiss, etc.)
- 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
Instructions
- Melt the butter over a low heat.
- Stir in the flour and salt until the mixture is smooth.
- Slowly add the milk and cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
- Add the cheese and stir to melt.
