    Connie Steven's Italian Meat Sauce

    List of Ingredients




    1 finely chopped medium onion
    3 finely chopped cloves of garlic
    1 teaspoon sweet basil
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 1/4 lbs hamburger meat
    1-28 oz can tomato puree
    1-15 oz can tomato sauce
    1-6 oz can tomato paste
    Water
    1 teaspoon sugar
    2 bay leaves

    Recipe



    Brown onion, garlic and sweet basil in olive oil. Add salt and pepper. After onion is yellowish, add hamburger meat. Brown.
    Add tomato puree, tomato sauce and tomato paste. Fill
    each can with water. Pour water into sauce. Add sugar and
    bay leaves. Stire well. Cover. Simmer 1 hour. Remove cover.
    Simmer 1 more hour.
