Ham And Cabbage Soup

List of Ingredients
- 2 cups diced ham
- 2 potatoes peeled and diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 head cabbage, sliced thin
- 2 cans chicken broth or bouillon
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Put everything in pot except cabbage and salt. Cook until veggies are cooked through. Add cabbage and cook until just tender. You may have to add more water or chicken broth.
Final Comments
My comments: I used a can of stewed tomatoes, because I didn't have diced ones. I was not sure of how much salt, (or if any) to use, since the recipe did not say, so I added at least 1/4 or 1/2 tsp. at the beginning of cooking the vegetables. After adding the cabbage, I just added water as needed. I thought it was a delicious soup.
