    List of Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 pounds lean beef stew meat, cut into small chunks
    • 1 1/2 pounds lean pork stew meat, cut into small chunks
    • 1 medium to large diced onion
    • 2 heaping teaspoons minced garlic
    • 2 to 3 tablespoons canola oil
    • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
    • 2 (10 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chiles
    • 2 (16 ounce) cans chili beans
    • 1 (.87 ounce) envelope brown gravy mix
    • 1 (.87 ounce) envelope pork gravy mix
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 4 teaspoons chili powder
    • 1 to 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes, for heat (optional)

    Instructions

    1. In a cast iron dutch oven, add canola oil. Heat up, then add stew meats, onion and garlic. Cook until almost done. Then add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and then turn down to simmer for 3 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally. After it's almost dine, taste. Then decide if you need to add salt and pepper. It's really great served with cornbread.
