    Sausage And Cabbage Soup

    • 1 pound smoked sausage, cut into bite sized pieces
    • 1 green pepper, chopped
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 2 cups shredded cabbage
    • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
    • 2 cups chicken broth
    • 1 teaspoon basil
    • 1 teaspoon oregano
    • Pepper to taste
    • Water if needed


    Instructions


    1. Brown sausage, green pepper, onions and cabbage in bottom of a soup pot. Add tomatoes, broth and water (if needed). Add oregano, basil and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about an hour.
    2. I always have to add water to mine so when I used the recipe builder I put in 2 cups. I roughly guesstimated that my Dutch oven holds 12 cups so I make all my soups into 12 1 cup servings. This also needs a lot more basil and oregano.
