Awesom Instant Potatoes

- 6 2/3 cups water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
- 1 package dry ranch dressing mix
- 5 1/3 cups betty crocker potato buds
Instructions
- Heat water, butter, salt, pepper, cream cheese, sour cream and ranch dressing to boiling in a large pot.
- When it begins to boil, remove from heat and stir in dry potato buds and whisk until moistened.
- Let stand for about 30 seconds.
- Then whip with a hand mixer.
- You may need to adjust the consistency by adding more hot water or more potato buds.
- Important: It is important that you use Betty Crocker Potato Buds. Other brands will not work as well.
- These can be made in advance and refrigerated.
- To serve, simply heat and serve.
