    Golden Au Gratin Potatoes

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 tablespoons melted butter
    • 1 cup finely diced sweet onion
    • Kosher salt and freshly ground peppercorns, to taste
    • 1/4 cup flour
    • 3 cups milk
    • 2 cups shredded cheese, american, cheddar or velveeta
    • 1 cup shredded cheese
    • Sliced potatoes, as many as needed for your family


    Instructions


    1. Melt butter, add onions, salt and pepper and cook until onions are soft (about 4 minutes). Add flour and cook 2 more minutes. Add milk and bring to a boil, lower heat and cook 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and add cheese, stirring until melted. Add your liced potatoes and pour into casserole dish. Add extra cup of shredded cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden and bubbly. Let set 5 minutes before serving.
