Stove Top Macaroni And Cheese

- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 teaspoon dried mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (optional)
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Instructions
- Cook pasta in a large saucepan according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in same saucepan over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and whisk in milk, eggs, mustard and optional hot pepper sauce.
- Return pasta to pan; stir in cheese. Mix well.
- Cook over low heat 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and mixture is creamy and thickened.
- Serve immediately.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings.
