Beef: Campfire Hash

List of Ingredients
- 4 slices of bacon
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon ketchup
- 1 cup water (more if needed)
- 2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
- Pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 3 cups raw peeled, diced potatoes
Instructions
- Fry bacon until crisp; set aside. Add onion to bacon grease and saute until tender. Add butter and ground beef, fry until browned; drain.
- Chop bacon into small pieces. Add bacon and remaining ingredients to skillet. Cook slowly until potatoes are tender.
- Serves 6
Final Comments
I drain some bacon grease before sauting onion. I drain the grease before adding ground beef, and drain when beef is browned.
